This weekend dreamer and buZz are going to work on the iBeamer project. A kinect driven 3D visual human interface thing written in puredata.
Also we are trying to educate some people to learn more puredata.
And, there is a a music festival in the area on saturday (see ‘Bergpop’), so this could be the beginning of something beautiful ;)
The ‘event’ is expected to run Friday at 4:00pm – July 4 at 10:00am
SLUG (Squatters Linux User Group) would like to invite you for security workshop. The topics are:
- Theoretical presentation about the conccept of security, not only on the internet
- Practical use of FireGPG, web-browser plugin for email encryption
- What is IRC and how to use it safely
11th September in De Hallen (hal 3/bellamyplein, Amsterdam oud-west). Starts at 18:30.
Please bring your laptops / desktops for the workshop (we will provide screens/cables etc.). This way you can fully make use of the presentations and be helped on the spot in case of trouble.
IMPORTANT: If you use corporate commercial operating systems like Windows or Mac OS don’t be scared. Tools used during the workshop are multiplatform open source and will also work on your computers. So You can feel invited too.

3D printers bestaan al jaren. Tot voorkort waren het dure apparaten, die
slechts voor grote bedrijven betaalbaar waren. Niet iets waarmee een
kunstenaar, ontwerper of uitvinder zelfstandig aan de slag kan. Dankzij
de ontwikkeling van Open Source hardware is dat aan het veranderen.
Online Communities werken aan de ontwikkeling van Do-It-Yourself
alternatieven.
Inmiddels is er een bouwpakket 3D printer op de markt voor 750 euro en
kan je op internet diverse ontwerpen vinden die je zelf kan nabouwen.
Besturings-software, voorheen vaak nog duurder dan de printer zelf, is
gratis beschikbaar op internet.
In deze workshop vertel ik over mijn eigen ervaringen met de bouw van 3D
printers. Ik laat zien wat er nu aan software en hardware beschikbaar is
en waar we aan werken.
